The Favorite Friday Book Tag has been created by J over at Midnight Book Blog. She is an amazing blogger, so go check her out. Every week she picks a bookish favorite of hers whether it be favorite main character, author, genre etc and talks about it. This week the topic is favorite book from your childhood.
At first, I didn’t feel like doing this tag because I have already talked a lot about my childhood books. I didn’t want it to be repetitive…but here I am.😅
I adored Enid Blyton growing up (you must have guessed this by now). One of my favorite series was – Famous Five. It is a 21 book long series, following the story of five cousins – Julian, Dick, George, Anne, and Timmy (me: squealing!!) 🤩🐶
If I were to pick a favorite from this series, it would be – Five go to Smugglers Top, which is the fourth book in the series.
The Five find adventure, when they spend Easter vacation at Mr. Lenoir’s sinister house Smuggler’s Top. Set high above an eerie marsh, the house is honeycombed with hidden staircases and tunnels that once served as a hideaway for smugglers. When strange lights begin to appear, the Five suspect that the tunnels are once more in use.
This book has underground tunnels, mist -shrouded castle, sinister characters, great friendships and a mystery bigger than what you can imagine. I loved the entire series, but this book, particularly has stayed with me. I have loved it. My love for mysteries and thriller books was born from this book…this series.
Talking about these books is making me so nostalgic. 😢😭
What is your favorite childhood book?
UNTIL NEXT TIME!
