So, I feel like I should be really honest with you guys because you all are book worms here, and if you guys don’t understand the plight of a fellow bookworm then who will?!

So this is going to be me ranting and grumbling about my problem! So HELP!!๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Here goes nothing:

Oh my god!! Guys!!? I am in a slump..or rather am going to be in a slump!! Tragedy! Disaster! The world is going to end! NOOOOO!!! ๐Ÿฅถ๐Ÿ˜จ๐Ÿคฏ

ME: Soโ€ฆI am not enjoying this book.

ME: (overly optimistic โ€ฆ.claps hands) Okay! Not an issue let’s try another one.

ME: I am not enjoying this at all! (internally screaming AAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaa) ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

A few hours later,
my mom comes to my room and asks me,”What’s wrong?”

I need your hepl!! Please suggest some books that will help me get out of this ASAP! It’s approaching fast. I can sense it. It’s gonna kill me! It’s disastrous! This is why I haven’t been able to post anything for quite a long time. (a week)๐Ÿ˜“

I usually read fantasy, in case you didnt know. But other genres work for me too. So, please plase please recommend a few books to me. I always seem to be able to recommend books to people to get out of a slump, unfortunately, I always recommend books that I have already read.

Recommend a few books to me please!!! Save me from this monster! ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ‘น

  4. Hello Ashmita! Why don’t you try reading short stories and poetry (just give them a try.) It will give you a break from long inter-plotted books and will help you read more. You can read one short story or poetry at a time, it will give you satisfaction that you read something and then you can start reading the books again!

You can also try reading novellas.

Alomg came a Spyder is a quick and funny read, you can try that.
Malgudi days is a classic yet have funny and witty stories, if you have not read that.
I remember you like Enid Blyton, why don’t you reread one of your fav books from childhood?
I’ve been reading “The Fascinators” lately and enjoying it so far, can give that a try.
If you want suggestions for poetry books, I’ll shoot with some as well!

  10. Book slumps are the actual worst, aren’t they?
I highly recommend that you just pick a book on your TBR out of your comfort zone. I give this advice and people always ask why, but it’s because I totally believe that slumps can ( sometimes ) be the product of too much similarity!
I love fantasy too and found that rereading If I Stay and then getting into a contemporary-fantasy book Summer of Salt helped a lot!
    Hope this helps ๐Ÿ™‚
