I have no idea how to write an intro to a wrap-up post. I am lost. But I must say, I am off to such an amazing start!!! January was a great reading month for me! I read sixteen freaking books and I am so happy with myself.

I really enjoyed “The Child Wore Pearls”, and I am happy to say that I read a book which is not from a genre I usually read! I gave it a 4 star.

Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy this book; had to give it just a star. It was a “skip-it” read for me, however, I know quite a few people who found this highly entertaining and gave it a five star! So, you might wanna check it out.

Ah! Pretty covers! My weakness. This was an extremely unique read. It has one of my fav tropes – magic school (!) and the unique thing is that it is from the Teacher’s pov. It was a let down for me but it was worth reading at the same time!

Honestly speaking, I remember nothing about this book and I guess that says a lot about it. All I remember is that there was a lot of telling instead of showing. This was off to “not a bad start”, but disappointments.

This was a fairly entertaing middle grade book and I had a good time with it, although I must say that it appeared like the author couldn’t decide on the genre. At times it was too complicated to be a middle grade but then again it had dragons and magic and quests – so you got me!

This book is actually the second in a series and bummer! I didnt realize that. It was a total lol situation for me. However, I read a few spoilery reviews of the first book and I could follow everything. The book realeases on Feb 16th, 2021. So, I have to wait until then to post the review.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the cover art? Because….I mean…just look at this beauty!! It was a very enjoyable read for me! This book releases on 23rd Feb, 2021 and I can’t wait to share my thoughts about it with you guys!!
I am not gonna lie – these books are addictive! Like really! I almost went into a reading slump end of Dec and start of Jan kinda…but these books saved my life. I just couldn’t stop reading. Haha. This is embarassing, becuase you can’t exactly go around telling people so hey! my current read is about athletic boys and really smart girls and how they find their true love and not to mention the amount of smut in it. (These are part of a series but you can read these as stand-alone.)
Finally, the last book in the off-campus series BUT we NEED to talk about Red, White & Royal Blue!!! I LOVED this book! I buddy read this with Tiction@ Fictionally Crazy and I am so glad I did. I used to say that I am never gonna read this book, because I felt that the synopsis was so absurd. (yeah. being a fanatsy nerd I said that. I am ashamed) But now the only regret I have is not picking it up earlier.
“The Bookworm Crush” was such a sweet little book! I really enjoyed it but it was a bit immature too but I am immature. So, who am I to complain. I just had a good time reading it. and NOW – “The Girl Who drank the moon” where the cover is just – I just wanna cry. This book was soo gorgeous! It had so much whimsy and magic in it! I adore it honestly. When I think of it – mystical and lyrical – are the 2 words that come to my mind. It used a lot of repetitive language in a lot of places and that was annoying and I felt that it was bit too dark to be a middle grade but honestly I am not complaining. I think I would have loved it as a child.
Aah! I finally read the story of the girl who led an invisible life. I buddy read it with Alex@ mybookworld24 and Kristen@ The Novel existence. I really enjoyed this book. The first half was so damn annoying. I felt like I might die becuase of the slow pace but by part 2 or so, I could see what all that hype was about, and needless to say, I have hopped on the Addie Larue train. I did love it and it was a very thoughtful and melancholic book, but it was not a five star for me. and that’s okay. right?
AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaHHHh! Okay!!!!! I have no words for this book!!!!! Okay….um…..uh……hell! This book was nothing short of AMAZING! I am soo happy that my book club, which I run with Cherelle, read this for Jan! This is my ideal book!!!! I read Throne of Glass last year Feb, and I couldn’t get over it! I did find a lot of favs but nothing as good and I have been in a tog hangover ever since. Until recently, I found these two lovelies and now I am straight on maad. Okay I really need to stop here. Needless to say, you know that a huge post is coming up on this!!
I should mention that the second book is a novella called – Roma and Juliet christmas special. If anyone is interested, it available for free on Chloe’s website. And yeah I loved it too! right now all I can do is sulk around with a book hangover, till Nov 2021 and cry everytime I think of the real romeo and juliet story and hope against hope that all will be fine. I am getting this weird urge to say it like effie – may the odds be ever in ur favour. I have become obsessed to a crazy level. I am literally quoting shakespeare nowadays! Okay – I need to stop!
Now That was a hell lot of exclaimations! I had a really interesting reading month!! Um…I had a really interesting “life” month too and here’s why.
The GRAND reason behind my inactivity and absence: I died. kidding. Actually, I was getting a lot of headaches and these are the type of headaches which cause more headache when u think of it and then more headache. annoying. So, went to the doc. It’s because of online classes and phone. I have long hours of online classes (my school and teachers …they are ruthless), so I have to sit for a long time in front of the laptop. I don’t own the physical copies of majority of the books I read which means I read ebooks on my phone, plus I blog. I don’t watch tv so that wasn’t an issue. So, doc has given me glasses and advised me to minimise as much as possible. So, now I am gonna read all my physical unread books….which is a LOT! and I am gonna blog a litle less and I have exams this month – Feb, so I might not be that active…I don’t know. (sighs)
So, this is the short little announcement – Because, of my health and exams I might not be very active all the time. I am extremely sorry if I can’t reply to your comments and messages consistently and on time. I am devasted, because I know I am going to miss out on liking and commenting on all of your posts. I apologize beforehand. As soon as I am good to go, I promise to return every like and comment and follow!
