the girl who reads

Hello beautiful people! I hope you are having a wonderful day! ( if not, I hope that something here, brings a smile on your face!) Have fun reading and tell me something about yourself too, I would love to get to know you.

Before you start reading about my-not-so-fascinating self, I must warn you that there isn’t a lot of fun stuff that I do. I don’t train to be an assassin, nor do I have the opprtunity to save the world with magic and most unfortunately, I can’t even ride a dragon. I just do pretty normal boring stuff, which aren’t always boring to me, because I love doing what I do. I read📚 (A LOT!), I write🖊️stuff, play the guitar🎸 and the ukulele, I sketch🎨 sometimes and love cycling or going for a long walk🚶‍♀️. I don’t watch a lot of movies, but I do have some favourites and I don’t do TV shows (AT ALL!). I like to watch k -drama though! Oh and music🎵! I must admit….earphones are my lifeline! I am an ambivert. So, yeah, it took a while (actually it took a PANDEMIC) to muster up courage and finally put something out there in the open and make some bookish friends.

Oh and the name’s Ashmita! Nice to meet you!

The Fictional Journal started as a blog and a bookstagram account back in the August of 2020. This blog is something that I have always wanted to have to share my love of reading with everyone and spread some bookish love!

I created this blog, to have a small little place of my own on the internet, where I can share my thoughts and feelings about all things bookish. The main focus of this blog is books however, if anything piques my interest I will be sharing it too.

~favourite authors~

If you hate or even dislike these terrifically talented and amazing people, OUR friendship is at stake. (Just kidding!) I love many authors, but I thought it would be wise not to bore you with a humongous list!

(Just 7, ’cause it’s magical✨)

  • Frances Hodgson Burnett
  • Jane Austen
  • Charles Dickens
  • Sarah J. Mass
  • Jay Kristoff
  • Sabaa Tahir
  • Cassandra Clare

~let’s get personal~

  • I am a dreamer and a hopeless romantic.
  • Of course, I am obsessed with books, ice cream, magic and daggers.
  • I love the rain.
  • and if it’s books and you – it’s always going to be books.
